Orange Mountain Bikes was founded in 1988 by Lester Noble and Steve Wade as a rider driven company with product designed for UK conditions, a philosophy that continues today.
All Orange Mountain Bikes are still designed by Steve and constructed for hardcore use in typical British conditions with proven reliability and race winning performance including numerous UCI World Cup wins and Gold Medals at World Championships.
Our product line is based on evolution, using and improving upon technology that we know works well, but at the same time we constantly strive to innovate with new ideas like gearbox and carbon belt transmissions.
It's this combination of evolution and innovation and an understanding of our customers' bike buying criteria that keeps us at the top.
Whilst there are huge worldwide corporations churning out bikes by the container load, Orange are just about the polar opposite with less than 10 frames or bikes assembled per day at our factories in Halifax, Yorkshire. Proudly made by a small, enthusiastic and caring team we offer our customers numerous choices on component specification and finish so they can build a custom bike exactly suited to their needs.
It's a relatively unique idea in the bike industry, giving a customer what they need and want, and not relying upon marketing the latest gizmo, decal set and paint job to sell bikes.
