News from Silverfish 04/12/07

Silverfish UK Ltd expands portfolio with the addition of THE Industries.
Silverfish UK Ltd has been appointed as the exclusive distributor for THE Industries range of helmets and cycle related products in the UK. THE are a leading manufacturer of cycle products which includes their popular composite and carbon full face helmets which for 2008 will see new 'custom' style finishes and a range of mudguards and bike protection.

This means that all IBD's visiting the Silverfish stand in the Monza Suite will get the chance to see the full range of THE products first hand. Silverfish will be recruiting dealers at the show and our knowledgeable staff will be pleased to talk people through the range which includes the THE One full carbon, full face helmet which now has a low RRP of £169.00 or composite full face helmet which as an RRP of £99.95!

Silverfish will also be displaying the all NEW NEXT SL Carbon MTB Crankset for the first time in the UK at the show. These cranks had people talking at the Interbike trade show due to there amazing looks, clean lines and light weight. The Next SL Crankset using a secret procedure which allows the arms to be hollow without the need for an alloy skeleton!

Rocky Reduces Retails!
The first and most exciting news is that after some pretty heavy negotiation with Rocky Mountain we have been able to substantially reduce the retail price of the bikes by up to 20% in some cases. However the best bit is that we have been able to maintain the same high level of specification and same great dealer margin. We haven't just downgraded the specification of the bikes to hit price points like other brands it is still the same awesome ride just at a much better price. This is massive news and will give us a huge advantage over previous seasons with the Rocky Mountain Brand.

Back by popular demand will be the daily e.thirteen seminar in the Monza Suite. Last year mechanics and shop staff from stores all over the country visited the Silverfish stand to get the latest information, set-up tips and treble shooting help from e.thirteen on their World Championship wining chain guides and components. The seminar will be run by Jonas Mikolayunas from e.thirteen and is your chance to get all your questions answered directly as well as some useful set-up tips and tricks.

News from Ison 27/11/07

Ison Distribution will be showing some great new products including their new Halo Combat 2 wheels. Halo Combats are the original hardcore wheelsets and have now been updated with new wider-profile angular rims, black spokes and black QR hubs.
Paul Aieta from MRP will be on hand to show the brand new G2 Chain Device from MRP which has caused quite a stir since it's debut at Eurobike. This will be the chain device of choice for Steve Peat in 2008!

Wolfgang Goring the MD of KHE Bikes will be in attendance to show the 2008 range of KHE BMX Bikes. The Barbados AM bike will be on show which has proved to be the Xmas "must have" BMX in the UK as they sold out within days of arriving! The Barbados is the Signature Bike of top UK rider Phil Aller who also has a KHE Pro Barbados Frame available.

Core Bike - a bike show and more...

Come and see the latest and greatest products from over 150 brands, and talk directly to many of the key people involved in the design, the development, the manufacturing, servicing and distribution of these premier brands.

Core will have the MDs from all of the Distributors on site, plus several key personnel from International brands flying in from Canada, the USA and Europe.

This is YOUR opportunity to talk directly to these people, to tell them what you like and what you don't, and to help to find ways to drive your business forward.

Put simply, Core Bike is the easiest, friendliest and most cost effective way of allowing IBDs the opportunity to see a large amount of brands and distributors without wasting time and money away from the shop visiting single supplier shows.

Core Bike Show grows organically...

4 years ago a small collection of 6 Independent distributors and manufacturers of quality bicycle products got together to create a special type of DEALER only bike show.

They teamed up because there was no other trade show that sufficiently catered to the needs of today's Independent Bike Dealers. Rather than each of them hosting their own 'in-house' show, the Core Bike group recognised that dealers wanted more suppliers in a single location and that they were not happy attending "....countless single supplier shows". The Core Bike concept was born...

The show has grown gradually since its inception as more quality distributors and service providers have joined the show. Core Bike 2008 sees the total number of quality exhibitor's rise to 15 covering well over 150 top cycling brands. This year we welcome 2Pure, Pace Racing, Buff and Orange.

Core Bike continues to combine the personal time and attention from suppliers that you might receive at a single supplier show, but with an unprecedented selection of the UK's top bicycle and P&A brands at one nationally central location. It is undoubtedly the one bicycle trade show that you cannot afford to miss.

The Venue

For 2008 the Core Bike Show returns to the prestigious Whittlebury Hall (near Silverstone). www.whittleburyhall.co.uk

Confirmed dates are the 27th, 28th and 29th January 2008.

Whittlebury Hall is a luxury four-star hotel, with fantastic exhibition rooms and a magnificent award winning spa. Set in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside it nestles alongside the world famous Silverstone race circuit - it is an absolute doddle to find, and a pleasure to stay in.

We have negotiated special rates for overnight stays including evening dinner and breakfast. These are £110.00 for a single and £160.00 for a double. The food is absolutely fantastic and it is well worth making your visit an overnight one so you can spend a full day at Core Bike, and enjoy some quality food and wine in the evening.

Please contact Elaine Curtin e.curtin@easynet.co.uk for more information, or to book your accommodation - the hotel filled up rapidly last year so we would encourage you to book your rooms early.

Core Bike has also negotiated significantly reduced rates at the adjacent Spa complex - so you can pamper your partner (or even yourself!) whilst at the show, and this is also the ideal way to wind down after a day schmoozing with the industry and talking shop. If the Spa sounds far too relaxing - there is obviously a bar to cater for your other needs!

There really is a free lunch at the Core Bike Show

Core Bike is a show that is run by specialist companies within the industry that listen to feedback from their dealers. Last year some dealers felt that the free lunch provided, though impressive, was not quite as healthy as us cyclists like to eat (far too many cakes apparently)! This has now been addressed for the 2008 show and there will also be a large selection of soft drinks available. You can rest assured that all diets will be catered for this year.

Don't forget that there is also complimentary (i.e. free) coffee, soft drinks, cakes, chocolate bars and biscuits on tap all day long in and around the show area.

Fun and Games

New for 2008, and likely to be a lot of fun, is the Core Bike Gala Evening. Held in the exclusive Brooklands suite, anyone staying over on the 28th January has a real treat in store.

If you have the energy we have lined up an opportunity to drive Sega Rally Cars, ride Sega T.T motorcycles , ride a Bucking Bronco, play Human Roulette, or slug it out in a Sumo wresting bout with colleagues or competitors.

An action packed evening of fun entertainment is guaranteed for those that dare, and guaranteed for those who just want to sit and watch - the rumour is Richie from Silverfish and Andy from Paligap have lined up an awesome Rocky Mountain versus Kona bout on the Sumo!

Pre Register without delay

Please Note: Day visitors;
You will NEED to pre-register online at www.corebike.co.uk for Core Bike to ensure you can gain access to the show (registration also allocates you a buffet lunch)

N.B. Dealers planning on attending overnight do not need to pre-register for the show but do need to book their accommodation through e.curtin@easynet.co.uk

Don't miss out.... make time to get to the Core.
